You may simply have naturally visible veins.

In fact, some people have had prominent veins on their hands since childhood and only become concerned when they compare themselves with someone else.

There is no single “normal” appearance for healthy hands.

One of the most common reasons veins become temporarily more noticeable is physical activity.

During exercise, your cardiovascular system works harder to deliver oxygen and nutrients to active muscles and remove metabolic waste.

Blood flow increases, and changes in the diameter of blood vessels can make superficial veins more prominent.

This can be especially noticeable during activities such as:

* Weightlifting

* Running

* Cycling

* Swimming

* High-intensity workouts

* Sports

* Physically demanding work

People who exercise regularly may notice that their hands and forearms look particularly vascular immediately after training.

If you lift weights, for example, you may notice veins appearing much more clearly while gripping a barbell or performing strenuous repetitions.

This doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong.

As your body returns to its resting state, the veins often become less prominent.

The same person can therefore have relatively subtle veins in the morning and much more visible veins after an intense workout.
